Concrete poetry (or shape poetry) is a type of poetry where the words are arranged in a particular shape that matches the meaning or theme of the poem. My middle school students had a lot of fun writing concrete poems as a part of our poetry unit, and they came out so beautifully! The students were allowed to write their poems on any theme they chose, but I asked them to decorate the page to fit their theme.
